Man charged following burglaries and shop thefts |

We've charged a man in connection with three burglaries and shop thefts in Norwich. The burglaries took place between the 25 and 28 July at properties on The Erins, Beckwiths Court and Boot Binders Road. A number of items were reported stolen, including bank cards, a laptop, jewellery and a PlayStation. The shop thefts occurred on 18 and 20 July at a shop on Dereham Road and another on Westwick Street, where items including confectionery, laundry products and polo shirts were reported stolen. A man in his 30s was arrested yesterday morning (Wednesday 29 July) on Lothian Street following retail foot patrols in the city. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. Christopher Stephenson, 32, of Reepham Road, Norwich was charged with three counts of burglary with theft, three counts of theft from a shop, three counts of breaching of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and two counts of fraud by false representation. He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday 30 July) where he was remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance on 27 August 2026. | ||
