In the early hours of Saturday morning (29 March), we were called to a report of a group of cars driving dangerously on an industrial estate in Harleston. Vehicle meets can be a great idea when done properly, in a safe and considerate way by car enthusiasts. But when done in the wrong way, it can cause problems for the community, like property damage or distress to residents. So we thought it might be a good time to remind you of the Public Space Protection Order that prohibits vehicle anti-social behaviour across South Norfolk. Introduced last year, it was created to help police and the district council tackle nuisance driving, racing or riding. https://orlo.uk/ywWOT The order means if you are at caught causing an offence such as playing excessively loud music, unnecessary revving, performing stunts, damaging property such as road or car park surfaces, cause highway obstructions and more, you can receive a fixed penalty or prosecution, with a fine up to £1000. You can read more about Op Octane here: https://orlo.uk/lFfYs On this occasion, officers arrived at the scene and moved on the drivers, and we received no further calls about it. If you see any vehicle anti-social behaviour happening, then please call us on 101 or report online at the time https://orlo.uk/yq3s3, so we can send any available officers to it as soon as possible and put a stop to it.
